Terms of service

Last updated: October 16, 2026

1. Scope

These terms apply to all contracts about ViewGoblin between Malte Hoffmann, Micro-SaaS Solutions, Am Salzstadel 13, 83022 Rosenheim, Germany (“we”) and our customers.

ViewGoblin is offered only to businesses: entrepreneurs within the meaning of § 14 of the German Civil Code (BGB), legal entities under public law and special funds under public law. It is not offered to consumers. When you sign up, you confirm that you use ViewGoblin for your business. Other terms of the customer do not apply, even if we do not object to them.

2. The service

ViewGoblin monitors YouTube channels and videos that the customer adds: it records public statistics over time (such as views, likes and comments), shows changes to videos and compares a video with the channel's usual performance. The data comes from the YouTube API Services. What each plan includes is shown on the pricing page.

The free ViewGoblin browser extension shows statistics for YouTube pages open in the user's browser and exports comments. It is provided free of charge, without a claim to particular functions or availability.

3. Account and trial

You need an account to use the app. Keep your login details secret; you are responsible for activity under your account and your team's accounts. New accounts start with a free 14-day trial. When it ends, the account continues on the free plan unless a paid plan has been agreed. The trial does not turn into a paid plan by itself.

4. Prices and payment

Paid plans are charged at the prices agreed when the plan is booked. Fees are payable in advance for each billing period. If we change prices, we tell you at least four weeks before; you can cancel before the change takes effect.

5. Term and cancellation

Paid plans run for the agreed billing period and renew by the same period unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time with effect from the end of the current period, by email to info@viewgoblin.com or in the app where available. The right to terminate for good cause remains unaffected. You can delete your account at any time.

6. Your obligations

  • Use ViewGoblin only lawfully and in line with the YouTube Terms of Service.
  • Do not disrupt or overload the service, work around its limits, or access it automatically other than through the functions we provide.
  • Make sure that content you enter (such as notes) does not infringe the rights of others.

7. YouTube

ViewGoblin is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by YouTube or Google. Use of ViewGoblin is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service. ViewGoblin depends on YouTube and its API: if YouTube changes or limits them, functions may change or become unavailable. Statistics are shown as YouTube provides them; we do not guarantee that they are complete or correct.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep ViewGoblin available, but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, failures of YouTube or of our hosting provider can cause interruptions. We may develop the service further and change functions, as long as the essential functions of a booked plan remain.

9. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act, and where we have given a guarantee.

For slight negligence, we are liable only for breaches of essential contractual obligations (obligations whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible and on which the customer may regularly rely), and only for the damage typical and foreseeable for this kind of contract. Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded. These limits also apply to our representatives and agents.

For the free browser extension, we are liable only for intent and gross negligence, except as stated in the first paragraph.

10. Data protection

How we process personal data is explained in our privacy policy.

11. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms for the future. We tell you about changes at least four weeks before they take effect. If you do not object before then, the changed terms apply; we point this out in the notice. If you object, either side may terminate the contract when the changes take effect.

12. Final provisions

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If the customer is a merchant (Kaufmann), a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the place of jurisdiction is Rosenheim, Germany. If a provision is invalid, the rest of these terms remains valid.
